I’ve gone from full focus mining on my mini server-rig to part time, so occasionally I look up what’s most minable. I have a script that switches it from one to another with a few tweaks. I will publish this one day 😉
In the mean time, one of the main things about mining is always about efficiency. Some algorithms/coins are more memory hungry than GPU hungry (eg. kHeavyHash). While others are more balanced. This is all part of the balancing equation of power vs rewards. Anything that uses high GPU obviously draws more power, and works best if you have cheap or solar power coming in.
The most efficient algorithm for power (especially in Winter down here) is still kHeavyHash with a measely 170W (self-optimized return vs power) on a RTX 3090.
Today, I’m testing out CFX which is supposed to be a lot more profitable ‘per coin’ but will balance that with the huge power draw of 392W at this time. Value should be about 2.5x for about 2.1x power with no tweaks yet.
Let’s see how that goes.
