New work, new changes – but still tech!

It’s been a flash change for this year. Taking more changes for positive changes. New Double-glazed windows/doors complete (April), better management of health (blood sugar), new job (Woo!) which scored me even more gear for my home lab now.

Got a quad-chassis Supermicro, and 4 blades (1 faulty, replaced). Some sticks of RAM (12 slots each, but mostly 2GB modules). Got a bargain $26 (for TWO X5650’s on eBay!). Works great. 2 320GB disks, etc.
Pretty much got the whole rig for $26 – no rails.

Pretty much spent the last 3 nights testing RAM, disks, CPUs (got L5609 x4 , and E5630 x2, and E5640 x1 ) – and updating IPMI/BMC, and BIOS. The blades are the Supermicro X8DTT-F’s.

On top of that, I have a new Dedicated Server out in the ‘net. Slowly moving things back out there again behind redirections and stuff. Some changes from Apache/httpd -> nginx as my new endevour to put things together – via puppet.

Add to that now I’m messing with mod_security – and it does not like WP at default settings! (plenty of notes on those)

SecAction \
“id:900110,\
phase:1,\
nolog,\
pass,\
t:none,\
setvar:tx.inbound_anomaly_score_threshold=10,\
setvar:tx.outbound_anomaly_score_threshold=8″

Fix for default mod_security trip on XSS (higher threshold at 10/8)
